Beauty in the familiar
My work explores the beauty and complexity(small details) of everyday life. I’m drawn to the small overlooked moments that connect us all - quiet gestures, familiar places, the rhythm of daily routine. Through my art I aim to create a space where people see themselves reflected, where the ordinary becomes meaningful and where everyone feels like they belong. I’m not interested in perfection or spectacle - I’m interested in truth, vulnerability and the emotional threads that run through all of us.

Elizabeth grew up in New York in a family that appreciated art. Her grandmother painted as did her two older brothers.
Elizabeth is a painter based in southern Indiana who works primarily from photographs - both personal and found. Her paintings focus on the familiar.
Elizabeth is drawn to ordinary things: friends sharing a moment, young animals, everyday commonplace things, the feeling of a half-remembered place. Her approach is unpolished and unpretentious, with a focus on honesty over perfection. Whether working from memory or someone else’s snapshot, her aim is to make paintings that feel familiar - like something you’ve seen before, even if you can’t quite place it.
Elizabeth is completing the Mastery Program at the Milan Art Institute. This marks an important step in her growing art practice.
